Escape the Vanity of Life

pexels-photoBefore I gave my life to God, I was living a life of fornication & engaged with a plethora of another sin. By everyone else’s standards, I was ‘living the life’. Although ‘living the life’ left me empty inside which no one saw. I was seeking to fulfill that void in girls, drugs, games & many other pursuits.

All of these things were empty, they just masked a temporary truth that I was living with. The truth that we’re all pursuing the fulfillment of the ‘void’ or that ’empty space’ you can’t place your finger on. I know you understand the void that I’m mentioning because life puts you in a circumstance to look at it face to face for what it is.

In the context of girls, I genuinely believed that if I just found the “right” one that ticked all the boxes that came in wrapping paper with next day delivery that she would fulfill all my needs. Haha, I was a jokaaaaaaaa. Similarly, we can believe that other pursuits can give us that fulfillment we’re looking for.

King Solomon, CEO & founder of Babyboy lifestyle inc. describes this brilliantly. He was a man that had 700 wives, princesses & 300 concubines (1 Kings 11:3). He says “Whatever my eyes desired, I did not keep from them. I did not withhold my heart from any pleasure, for my heart rejoiced in all my labor; and this was my reward from my all my labor,” & He eventually concluded at the end of the chapter that “I hated life because the work that was done under the sun was distressing to me, for all is vanity and grasping for the wind” (Ecclesiastes 2:10 & 2:17).

This man was living better than an Arabian prince yet he understood that everything he did without God was empty – simply a distraction from the truth.

“The earth was without form and void, and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light” (Genesis 1:2-3)

Your life right now may be without form, you may feel this void and you may feel like you’re stumbling in darkness. God is still hovering over your life and is calling you out of the darkness to fulfill your heart with the light you have knowingly or unknowingly been searching for.

Once I knew this, I could no longer unknow it. It boils down to this at the end of the day. Are you really allowing and trusting Him to fulfil your needs?

Am I judging you? No, I’ve just been down the road & I’m here to telling you the outcome just like King Solomon. Is God judging you? No,” For God did not send His son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through him might be saved” (John 3:17)

You don’t need to settle or compromise anymore because “You are a chosen generation, a royal preisthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light” (1 Peter 2:9)

You have a hope, destiny & future that God wants to give to you. The road isn’t easy, but it’ll be the best journey of your life from now till eternity.

Escape the vanity. Escape the matrix (puts on sunglasses with a black leather trenchcoat).img-thing

I definitely recommend reading the whole book of Ecclesiastes if you want to study how vain life can be. It can lead you down a deep trail of thought, but God will help you through it.

Thank you for Reading.
